The Admiral Collingwood

Client: JD Wetherspoon plc
Location: Ilfracombe, Devon, UK
Project Completion: April 2014
Area: 1495m²
Project Value: £3.25million

The design of the new building took inspiration from Fibonacci triangle, evoking the natural and appropriate form of the sea shell. A huge 6m high glazed dome dominates the structure providing the focal and talking point of the development. A large open terrace hugs the dome and provides a wow factor seating area for customers with fantastic views of the coastline and town. The building is finished in complementary materials such as zinc, glass and render. Internally, finishes and forms pay reference to the areas renowned natural resources and skill set, echoing the form of the structure in which they decorate.
