Client: Guinness Trust
Location: Hulme, Manchester
Project Status: Completed
Project Value: £2.5m
This project formed Phase ll of this award winning and highly environmentally conscious mixed-use development just outside of Manchester city centre.
The design for the twenty-five unit residential building was developed through a series of workshops which were attended by the end user group. All elements of design were discussed from the conceptual stage to the interior specifics of kitchen and bathroom fittings.
The £2.5 million complex arrangement of buildings are a highly sculptural mix of forms, colours, materials and textures which create an individual and stunning piece of architecture. The palette of materials so successful on Phase 1 is reflected again: western red cedar, zinc, render and buff brickwork.
The project was shortlisted for the RIBA national housing awards in 2001.
